Cape May Magazine’s First Annual

Garden of the Year Contest

Winner will be featured in the Fall 2025 edition of Cape May Magazine, receive a $100 gift certificate from Secluded Acres Garden Center, and a 2-year subscription to the magazine!

Gardens must be in the greater Cape May area including but not limited to: Cape May, West Cape May, Cape May Point, North Cape May, Villas and Lower Township. Gardens may be public or private and of any size or style.  Entrants must either own or manage the property. Gardens will be judged on overall design and aesthetics, use of color, plant selection and health, general appeal and neatness. 

Entries must be received by August 15, 2025.  Six finalists will be chosen from the entries received. Our judges will visit each finalist during the month of August. 

You may print the entry form and mail it to the attention of Elaine Haas at Cape May Magazine, P.O. Box 2383, Cape May, NJ 08204 or simply email the required information to EHaas@CapeMayMag.com.

Entries must include:

• Location of the garden and owner/manager’s name, address, phone number and email address

• Name of the person or company who designed the garden (if different than the owner)

• Brief description of the garden and why this garden is special, interesting etc.

• At least one, but no more than ten photographs of the garden

Terms and conditions: This contest is open to residents and business owners in the greater Cape May, NJ area, except employees and immediate family of Cape Publishing. By entering this contest, you grant Cape Publishing non-exclusive, unlimited license to publish information about your garden, photograph it and reproduce your submitted images in print and/or digital format in connection with Cape May Magazine, CapeMayMagazine.com and CapeMay.com. The judges’ decision is final. Winner will be notified by phone. All entrants are deemed to have accepted and are bound by the competition rules.
