Muller Family Chestnut Dressing
The difference between dressing and stuffing is how it’s baked. In the bird, it’s stuffing; in a dish, it’s dressing.
Gather these ingredients
- 12 slices stale bread, soaked in milk then squeezed dry and crumbled
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh thyme
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tsp. chopped parsley
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb. shelled, chopped chestnuts
Instructions
- In a sauté pan, brown pork with onions.
- Mix in remaining ingredients, adding the bread last.
- Bake in a greased casserole dish, covered at 375 degrees for 35 minutes, then uncovered for 10 minutes.
- Serve with turkey.
